Udawalawe Elephant Safari from Galle

Your elephant adventure begins with a pickup from your Galle hotel. You’ll travel in a comfortable, private, air-conditioned vehicle through the scenic southern Sri Lankan countryside. Upon arrival at Udawalawe, we will transfer you to your private 4×4 safari jeep.

For the next 3.5 hours, you will explore the unique landscape of Udawalawe National Park. Famous for its large, open plains, the park makes it easy to spot the magnificent herds of Sri Lankan elephants as they graze, play, and bathe in the reservoir. Your expert safari driver knows the best spots to find not only elephants but also water buffalo, crocodiles, monkeys, and beautiful birds like peacocks and eagles.

As an optional addition, we can time our visit to include the famous milk feeding at the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home (ETH), a truly memorable experience. After your safari, your driver will take you for a lunch break before making the comfortable journey back to Galle, or onwards to Ella if you choose that option.

The prices listed above are for our most popular Standard Safari (3.5 hours). We also offer other options for the ultimate wildlife experience:

• Half-Day Safari: (Approx. 6 hours)
• Full-Day Safari: (Approx. 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM) – For serious wildlife photographers and enthusiasts who want to spend the entire day in the park.

• Drop-off in Ella: Planning to head to the hill country next? We can arrange to drop you off in Ella after your safari and lunch. This is a popular and convenient way to travel. Contact us for a custom quote for this option.
• Elephant Transit Home (ETH): Let us know if you’d like to add the ETH visit to your itinerary. The entrance ticket for the ETH is not included in the package price.
