Udawalawe Elephant Safari Mirissa

Your elephant safari adventure starts with a convenient pickup from your Mirissa hotel. Relax in your private, air-conditioned vehicle as we travel from the coast towards the heart of elephant country. Upon arriving at Udawalawe, you’ll swap your car for a rugged 4×4 safari jeep and head into the park.

For the next 3.5 hours, your expert safari guide will navigate the open plains of Udawalawe, an ideal landscape for spotting wildlife. You’ll be amazed by the sight of large elephant herds grazing, playing, and interacting with each other. Your guide will also help you find the park’s other inhabitants, from crocodiles sunbathing by the water to colorful birds perched in the trees.

For a truly special experience, we can time your visit to include the milk feeding at the nearby Elephant Transit Home (ETH). After your safari, your driver will take you for a lunch break before the comfortable return trip to Mirissa, or onwards to Ella if you’ve chosen that popular option.

The prices listed above are for our most popular Standard Safari (3.5 hours). We also offer other options for the ultimate wildlife experience:

• Half-Day Safari: (Approx. 6 hours)
• Full-Day Safari: (Approx. 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM) – For serious wildlife photographers and enthusiasts who want to spend the entire day in the park.
