Yes, the safari is family-friendly. Children will enjoy the adventure, but parents should ensure they bring snacks, water, and comfort items.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Yala National Park is during the dry season, from February to July. This is when water is scarce, so animals gather around waterholes and lagoons, making sightings of leopards, elephants, and other wildlife much easier.
For day safaris, early morning (around 6:00 AM) is ideal, as animals are most active before the heat of the day. Evening safaris (around 3:00 PM) are also good, but mornings generally offer a better chance to spot leopards.

Description
Your day begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Galle or nearby areas. Leaving the old fort city behind, your private driver will take you through scenic southern landscapes toward Yala. The drive usually takes around four hours, timed so you arrive just as the park comes alive with morning wildlife activity.
At the entrance, you’ll transfer into your private 4×4 safari jeep. For the next four hours, your tracker will guide you through Yala’s vast wilderness, from open savannah to dense jungle. With luck, you may encounter leopards resting on rocks, elephants crossing the tracks, or crocodiles sunning themselves by the lagoons. Yala is also famous for its diverse birdlife, from painted storks to eagles.
After the safari, you’ll stop for a well-deserved lunch at a recommended local restaurant (meal not included) before returning comfortably to Galle in your private vehicle.
